Todd is an Epidemiology PhD student who joined the Kardia lab in 2005. He is interested in examining the relationships between genetic variation and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Currently, he is studying the role of putative functional single nucleotide polymorphisms in various inflammation genes on the risk of peripheral arterial disease. His research interests also include gene-gene and gene-environment interactions, and epidemiologic methodology. Despite the left hemispheric dominance typically at play with such computational and analytical endeavors, the right hemisphere of Todd’s brain is constantly plotting a coup d’etat. Dedication to the true skateboarding subculture; composing, recording and performing armed with basses, guitars and analog synthesizers (see former alliance at www.hairshirt.net ); documentation of such efforts through photography – all examples of the aforementioned right-sided agenda. Todd is also a huge fan of his wife Colleen and their canine companions Huxley and Owen. |
